A masked three-phase three-level Statcom (IGBT) has been developed and will be available very soon to EMTP users. An interesting feature of this model is that simultaneous switching between IGBTs and anti-parallel diodes (modeled as non-linear elements) is obtained without artificial means.
A preliminary version of this model is now available in this website in the user’s contributiom/Circuit section.
I wonder if somebody may discuss the importance/effect of such a feature on the accurate simulation of a practical Statcom or other Voltage Source Converter applications. Any comments about the performance of this stacom model is also welcomed.
