I want to obtain the admittance matrix of an external system seen from boundary ports.

I would like to transfer the output data (including the magnitudes and phase angles) to MATLAB and fit them via Vector Fitting to obtain a frequency dependent network equivalent. In ATPDraw, the out file is putted in a *.lis file that can be used. Although in EMTP_RV, the output data (related to plot curves) is putted in *.m file and a *.mda file, but I don’t know how use them. The *.mda file is not opened by office Access software. I really would be grateful if you can help me.Thanks a lot for your kind attention in advance.I am waiting for your reply soon.

You can use MPLOT to save your data into ASCII or MAT format. In 2.1 you can also automate this task…. It is very easy to do what you want and many users do it on a regular basis.

    Dear Dr. Mahseredjian

Thanks for your advice. This problem was solved. Now after obtaining a network equivalent as an input ATP file, I don’t know how import it in EMTP_RV. This is a part of my file:

    BEGIN NEW DATA CASE

    $DUMMY, XYZ000

    $DUMMY, XYZ000

    C  FIRST MISCELLANEOUS DATA CARD

    C  dT  >< Tmax >< Xopt >< Copt >

    1.000E-6    .005

    C  BRANCHES

    :

    :

However this format is for ATP and will be different for EMTP_RV. Where can I find the help of EMTP_RV about this format? and How can one import this format in EMTP_RV ?

Thanks a lot for your kind attention in advance.

    Best Regards,

Indeed….How can we automate this task?(save data into ASCII). I’m working with the 2.2 version of EMTP and i can’t find more information about that.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Babak:

Do you have a design file that you can send us(tech@emtpsupport.com).

Please also include your unit number or access code.
