Powersys performed a capacitor bank switching study for a utility located in North America. The scope of work concerned a Medium Voltage/High Voltage 100MVA substation located at the end of a relatively long radial transmission line. A load increase is forecasted for the next years and it is planned to replace the actual capacitor bank by a 50MVAR unit to provide the additional power without a severe voltage dip

Powersys performed in 2016 a power system study for an electrical utility located in Central Africa. Following a first study performed in 2013 where some weaknesses and instabilities were highlighted, investments were made during the last few years to strengthen their system: production increase, new transmission lines, new substations, and improved reactive compensation.

Application of Saturable Core Fault Current Limiters in Industrial Power Systems – Simulation Study
EDF R&D and the University of Zagreb (Department of Energy and Power Systems, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing) have worked together on the application of saturable core fault current limiters in industrial power systems.
They carried out a simulation study using EMTP® and they consequently wrote a technical paper to present their work.

EMTP® for Nuclear Application
EDF uses EMTP® for Nuclear Studies
EDF uses extensively EMTP® for studies related to nuclear electrical power engineering and research. The range of these studies is quite large and covers applications as different as the energizing of ancillary loads or the the protection of the main transformer of nuclear plants against lightning. The use in France of a software program for applications related to nuclear safety requires a qualification process of this program (this has been a legal obligation since 2012).
