Mastering EMTP: Advanced Online Training

Overview

This training will be held in English.

This course is designed to help participants master advanced capabilities in EMTP® and leverage them for greater efficiency and customization. By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Improve proficiency with EMTP®

  • Script and automate the graphical user interface

  • Create customized toolboxes

  • Integrate DLLs to extend EMTP’s functionality

Prior experience with EMTP is strongly recommended. The course includes hands-on exercises and guided examples to build both theoretical understanding and practical skills for advanced workflows.

Training structure

The training lasts for 3 days, running daily from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., except for the third day, which ends at 11:00 a.m. The sessions will be conducted in English.

Computer and temporary EMTP® licenses

Every participant is required to bring their own personal computer. Temporary EMTP® licenses will be provided to participants for the course’s duration.

Intended audience

This training is ideal for T&D electrical engineers, consultants, industry professionals, researchers, and post-graduate students involved in power system studies.

Ticket types

Regular Ticket (Full Admission)

Includes a temporary EMTP® license, access to live Q&A, and participation in small hands-on labs with personalized support. Ideal for those who want to actively practice during the training.

Listener Ticket  (Listen Only)

Grants full access to all presentations and sessions but excludes EMTP® licenses and lab participation. Best for those who prefer to focus on listening only.

Day 1: Monday, October 6, 2025

  • Parallel computing
  • Parametric study

Day 2: Tuesday, October 7, 2025

  • Scripting with EMTP® (JavaScript, Python)

    – Modify a circuit

    – Start a simulation

    – Post process results

Day 3: Wednesday, October 8, 2025

  • Control DLL integration using CIGRE/IEEE standard DLL interface
