SUMMARY:Training: Get Started with EMTP - Beginners
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis training will be held in English. \nThis course is designed to help participants gain a solid foundation in electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulation using EMTP®. By the end of the training\, participants will be able to: \n\n\nUnderstand the fundamentals of EMT simulation \n\n\nCreate and configure circuits in EMTP® \n\n\nSimulate and visualize waveforms \n\n\nModel key power system components \n\n\nNo prior experience is required – the course includes hands-on exercises and guided examples to build both theoretical understanding and practical skills. \nComputer and temporary EMTP® licenses\nEvery participant is required to bring their own personal computer. Temporary EMTP® licenses will be provided to participants for the course’s duration. \nIntended audience\n\nT&D electrical engineers\nConsultants\nIndustry electrical engineers\nResearch personnel in industry\, utilities\, universities and consulting companies involved in power systems studies\n Post-graduated students.\n\n  \nThe course objectives are:\n\n   Understand the basics of EMT simulation\n   Know how to create a circuit in EMTP\n   Know how to simulate and visualize waveforms\n   Know how to model power system components\n\n  \nProgram\n\nSession 1– 31th of March – 9am to 12pm \n\nIntroduction to EMTP®\nTheoretical backgrounds on Power Systems and Transients\, analysis methods\nThe range of problems and frequencies: lightning\, switching and temporary overvoltages; electromechanical transients\nNumerical methods for the simulation of transients\nInitialization methods of EMTP®\n\n\nSession 2– 1st of April – 9am to 12pm \n\nTime-domain simulation options of EMTP®\nScopes and visualisation options\nOverview of EMTP® components: power and control devices\nCreation and maintenance of subnetworks with masking\nBuilding basic test cases\n\n\nSession 3– 2nd of April – 9am to 12pm \n\nTransformer models\nTransmission line models: from basic to advanced\nLoad-flow\, Steady-state solution of EMTP®\nFrequency scan option of EMTP
